DESCRIPTION:Please join us as we get to work assisting in the cleanup and r
estoration of the Kula burn area. We'll be working with Malama Kula\, a re
cent recipient of a Maui Fire Relief Fund grant from Rotary District 5000.
For the work day on the we’ll likely be focusing on re-planting native
vegetation\, (likely vetiver plants\, which help with erosion and soil ret
ention along ridge lines)\, wood chip scattering\, and/or pulling invasive
plants like nettle. We’ll cater the activities to the physical ability
levels of the people choosing to attend (so no worries—nothing will be t
oo hard!) Participants will want to bring clothes and equipment for workin
g outdoors: • Closed toed shoes • Long pants • Long sleeves • Suns
creen • Water Bottle • Snacks • Sunglasses You're also welcome to br
ing gloves from home\, although we have plenty to use if you don’t have
your own. We'll meet at the Kula Marketplace at 8:30 am\, in the parking a
rea. Please email us to let us know you'll be joining us: upcountryrotary@
