Please join us as we get to work assisting in the cleanup and restoration of the Kula burn area. We'll be working with Malama Kula, a recent recipient of a Maui Fire Relief Fund grant from Rotary District 5000.
For the work day on the we’ll likely be focusing on re-planting native vegetation, (likely vetiver plants, which help with erosion and soil retention along ridge lines), wood chip scattering, and/or pulling invasive plants like nettle. We’ll cater the activities to the physical ability levels of the people choosing to attend (so no worries—nothing will be too hard!)
Participants will want to bring clothes and equipment for working outdoors:
• Closed toed shoes
• Long pants
• Long sleeves
• Sunscreen
• Water Bottle
• Snacks
• Sunglasses
You're also welcome to bring gloves from home, although we have plenty to use if you don’t have your own.
We'll meet at the Kula Marketplace at 8:30 am, in the parking area.
